Research themes/centers of interest

Syntheses and characterizations of functionalized oligosaccharides and polysaccharides from chitosan for biomaterial applications. Domains of expertise: (i) extractions of chitin and chitosan from biomass ; (ii) syntheses of homologous series of chitosan and chitooligosaccharides with controlled degrees of polymerization and N-acetylation; (iii) regioselective chemical functionalizations and (iv) structural characterizations of chitosan, chitooligosaccharides and their derivatives by specific techniques (size-exclusion chromatography, 1H and 13C NMR, mass spectrometry, TGA).
