Macromolecular engineering / Functionalisation of inorganic fillers / Radical polymerisation / Hybrid materials / Nanocomposites
Research themes/centers of interest
I am involved in two main research fields : the synthesis of polymers with controlled architectures in solution and in molten media, and macromolecular engineering applied to the functionalisation of inorganic surfaces. In the field of polymer synthesis, I’m particularly interested in the self-assembly of reactive block copolymers with controlled architectures to obtain, for example, organic-inorganic hybrid materials, but also in the chemical modification of polymers in a molten medium via radical reactions. Moreover, I am interested in the functionalization of inorganic surfaces which mainly associated with controlling the properties of thin films based on polymer brushes formed on silicon wafers and glass wafers using a combination of reactive Langmuir-Blodgett deposition, grafting from and controlled radical polymerization. Similarly, I am interested in the development of nanocomposites containing functional fillers with various form factors to address the problem of homogeneous dispersion of these fillers in polymers using grafting from, onto and through techniques.
